Well, it’s official! Despite his supporters not getting that all important “FIRST TO KNOW” text message on time, Obama has officially announced that his running mate is Senator Joe Biden (D-Delaware). So, in honor of this announcement I have created a special graphic that I have made available on a wide variety of products. Featured below is the bumper sticker I put together that you can purchase individually, or in bulk to give to your friends and neighbors who are just saying NObama in ‘08…

I don’t think there are many people in the United States, or even in the world, who are not aware that Russia has invaded Georgia - a former Soviet (Russian) Province. Georgia is one of our most loyal allies. Russia has no right to be invading Georgia. They are offering weak excuses for why they have done this - claiming that they are “protecting” Russian citizens. (I can’t help but wonder why the Russian citizens are staying when apparently they could leave if they wanted to.)
The Flash Point: South Ossetia
The portion of Georgia that Russia has invaded is called South Ossetia. In South Ossetia there have been “rebel” “separatist” groups active. These groups are being directly supported by Russia. Russia hasn’t just stopped at occupying this sovereign territory of Georgia, but just yesterday they bombed the capitol city of Georgia as well, and earlier this morning Russia sent even more air-bombing raids on Georgia. The fighting is only getting worse, and already hundreds if not thousands of innocent civilians have died - along with presumably a fair number of military troops on both sides, and separatist “rebels”.
Russia Takes More Land
Russia has also decided to station their destroyers in the Black Sea outside another Georgian territory. This area of Georgia is called Akhibzan(sp?). Another report was in the media yesterday that stated Russia was sending 9,000 more soldiers into this province - again presumably to “keep peace” (how does one keep peace with bombing raids).
This is not Peacekeeping
This is no peacekeeping mission as Russia is trying to make the world believe. Let’s at least be honest, Moscow - this is what is called war and you are waging it on a free nation that is allies with the United States. Our own president back in 2005 promised the President of Georgia our support in threats against it. I’m obviously not privy to know what is going on behind the scenes in the Pentagon, but publicly condemned Russia’s violence & Vice-President Dick Cheney has come out saying that there may be severe consequences for Russia if they do not end these attacks. Right now, President Bush is flying back from China to deal with this situation in Washington, D.C..
Please help us - Georgian President
Published today is a letter from Georgia’s President imploring the help of the United States. There is already talk among Georgians that we have left them unprotected, and unsupported. That we should be doing something already for their civilians lay dying due to Russian bombs.
The Defense of an Ally
As much as I dislike war, and violence I can’t help but think that in order to be an honorable nation we must step up and defend our ally. I can just hear the libs and isolationists now (imagine a whiny kid voice here): “You’re calling for war - you like war - you want people to die…” Well, I’ll tell you what - WAR is what is going on right now in Georgia - one of our closest allies. Someone who helps us when we need them. A country that helped us in the War on Terror by sending the third largest contingent of troops.
We would not be going to WAR, we are coming to the DEFENSE of a very small nation, that is just getting on its feet - FREE for the first time since being controlled by Soviet Russia, and finally beginning to prosper. Do you believe in real freedom for people? Then you must recognize that Georgia is not the innocent player in this. It is Russia that has brought this to our door… All of you who continually complain, “The world hates us”; do you really think they will have any more or less respect for us if we turn our backs on our word to an ally? Think about that for a minute. Good relations include coming to each others aid, and this doesn’t exclude when a country is attacked. If anything - especially in a new country - it is perhaps most important.
Was “The Bear” Only Hibernating?
Russia’s leaders had to have known that attacking Georgia would put her allies in a position of having to come up against them. I wonder if this was part of the plan overall - help Iran hold pressure against us while they take bak some of their former captive nations. Several Eastern-European nations have also offered support to war-torn Georgia stating that they well-remember what it was like to be a “Captive Country” under Soviet rule - it doesn’t sound like they are convinced, and frankly neither am I, when Russia says it has put it’s goals of domination to rest. As John McCain once said, “When I look in Putin’s eyes I see something - the KGB”. Putin is definitely up to his “old tricks”. His training in the Communist machine has not gone unused. Instead of the Communist Party, the leaders have merely become ruling oligarchs, and instead of the KGB doing the dirty work, the Russian mafia is said to be more active than ever.
Russia has also been helping Iran to continue building its nuclear program - despite the threats from Iran’s leaders that they want to “wipe Israel off the Map”, and all sorts of variations on the theme of “death to America”. Was this part of their plan as well? To get the US focused on their friends the Iranians, and refusing to help in Iraq all because they were planning to “re-”annex their former Soviet States? Did they think our country would be too torn by internal strife over the Iraq war to be able to rouse the public into helping defend our ally? I hope I am wrong in my suspicions, however, I do not trust the Russian Government, and I feel for the Russian people, and all the other innocent people who are suffering because of the greed of others…
No Blood for Oil
A lot of liberals seem to think that the United States is fighting a war for oil in the Middle East right now. However, we are going to be leaving Iraq eventually. They are going to own their own country - to elect leaders and develop business & education & do everything else a thriving community does. We are not going to “own” their oil, nor are we going to occupy them forever - what we are doing right now is teaching them to be able to stand on their own - and it’s working…
Russia on the other hand is not attacking Russia with these eventual intentions. Georgia is already sovereign and free. Georgia elects its leader according to their own laws. Russia has attacked the capitol of Georgia, and is fighting on the side of separatists (or maybe a better term would be domestic terrorists). They are directly interfering with the affairs of the sovereign Georgian government with a legally elected President.
History Repeating
Another view of these developments by more than a few people around the web: Russia invading Georgia, is akin to Hitler invading Poland in 1939. This is Putin & Russia’s “Sudetenland”. I wonder if the allies of Georgia and freedom will come to the aid of these people, or if we will again stand by and watch as Europe gets gobbled up by a country that is violently overthrowing their neighbor. The Russian Government has already warned the Ukraine as they have released information that alleges the Ukraine with helping Georgia right now (I say allege because I haven’t been able to verify if this is true or not, if it’s being reported by anyone else).
The Personal Side
It scares me that our country may be closer to war with Russia than at any time - perhaps since the Cuba Missile Crisis. My daughter is coming “of age”, and if there is a new draft (or if she decides to volunteer) I won’t be too thrilled with the prospect of her serving - however, I would be immensely proud of her, and thankful for her sacrifices for the rest of our family, community & country, as well as the cause of Freedom & peace in our World.
I can’t personally think of any way we can avoid what may be to come unless Russia backs off.
A Prayer
May God bless the Georgian People, and may God Bless the USA and all her allies. May God give our President and our government the strength and wisdom to make “all the right moves” at this dangerous time…
Take care of each other, everyone!

Well, they’re at it again… Tonight we receive news that riots are again plaguing Northern France. Approximately 60 cars were burned last night and French police were attacked with baseball bats and molotov cocktails… [Read more]
Readers here may remember the French riots back in November of 2005 that last for almost 3 weeks. During that time the rioting was perpetrated by dissaffected “youths” - more precisely Muslim “youths” all over France; starting in the Paris suburbs and quickly spreading to outlying towns and cities.
Here is the coverage from “Big News Network”:
French Youths Riot in the Streets
Dozens of youths and police have clashed in northern France, leaving nine people injured.
Around 60 cars went up in flames as youths went on a rampage in the streets of Vitry-le-Francois, some 200 kilometres north of the capital Paris.
The youths, armed with baseball bats and Molotov cocktails, were only scattered after dozens of security forces quelled the unrest.
The scuffles broke out after a young man was murdered on Saturday evening.
Reports are slowly coming in giving a little more detail… Following is the coverage from 24News.com. Several policeman and firefighters were injured in the rioting last night…
French Youths Clash with Police
Lille - Dozens of French youths clashed with police in a town in northeast France overnight, burning cars during a rampage triggered by the killing of a 22-year-old man, an official said on Sunday.
Two police officers, two firefighters and five residents suffered minor injuries during the violence that raged until Sunday morning in Vitry-le-Francois, said Sylvaine Astic from the regional prefect’s office.
Armed with baseball bats and firebombs, about 50 youths went on a rampage, torching cars and setting fire to garbage bins in the town of 17 000 people, Astic told AFP.
The violence started around 22:00 (20:00 GMT) after the 22-year-old man was gunned down in Vitry-le-Francois. A suspect was arrested overnight.
About 60 police officers were dispatched to the town late on Saturday and remained in Vitry-le-Francois on Sunday.
A police union issued a statement denouncing what it termed as “hysteria” in relations between French youth and police.
“This started out as a murderous settling of scores,” said Nicolas Comte of the SGP-FO police union.
“But quickly this tragic event prompted a violent group to attack police with baseball bats and molotov cocktails as young bystanders watched passively, like spectators to the ‘riot show’,” said Comte.
He linked the latest outbreak to the 2005 suburban riots, France’s worst unrest in decades, when poor immigrant-heavy areas around Paris and other major cities exploded into three weeks of violence.
“Nothing has been resolved since. The fire is still burning under the ashes,” said Comte.
About 250 people took part in a silent march in Vitry-le-Francois on Sunday, led by the victim’s mother who wept as she walked holding a photograph of her son through the low-income neighbourhood of Rome-Saint-Charles.
The last time there was major rioting was in the Paris suburb of Villiers-le-Bel in November when two teenagers riding a motorbike died after they collided with a police car. The incident led to three days of riots.
More than 100 police officers were injured in Villiers-le-Bel when rioters armed with hunting rifles and pellet guns opened fire, a new, worrisome turn in the ongoing clashes with police in the suburbs.
I will continue to follow this, hopefully it won’t turn into weeks of violence with scores of innocent civilians and others hurt, as it did in 2005. It will be interesting to see how Sarkozy responds to these incidents in comparison to former French President Jacques Chirac.
Please note - as was the case back in 2005 these “immigrants” are being labeled as “French Youths”. The reality is that the people resorting to violence are Muslim immigrants, and the term youth is loosely applied in these cases. As we found out back in 2005 - pictures of the incidents tell a different story as some of these “youths” looked to be in their mid- to late-twenties.
Some sad news to share with everyone — actor Charleton Heston has passed away. His death, at the age of 84, was announced by family and friends this morning. Mr. Heston was a very popular, and talented actor, as well as a cherished activist for 2nd Amendment Rights.
Many of you know Charleton Heston from his amazing movie roles; as Moses in The Ten Commandments, in Antony & Cleopatra, and in Ben-Hur. Those are the movies I watched of his when I was younger. He was truly an amazing actor. To see a complete list of the movies and appearances he has made over the year, please check out his bio at the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) - Charleton Heston.
During the 80s and 90s he made headlines on a fairly regular basis as a spokesperson for the NRA (National Rifleman’s Association). This brought criticism from the liberals and “gun grabbers”, but just like in his acting, he was a staunch and at time fierce proponent and never backed down from a “fight”. I didn’t agree with all of his (and the NRA’s) stances, but I definitely respect him for defending our Constitution. Would that there were more in Hollywood with his integrity, and his point of view.
Rest in peace, Mr. Heston.
And may God bless your family and friends with grace,
strength and comfort as they mourn your passing…

First, for those of you who may not be familiar with what Collectivism is, let’s look to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary for a definition;
COLLECTIVISM:
1:a political or economic theory advocating collective control especially over production and distribution; also : a system marked by such control
2: emphasis on collective rather than individual action or identity- Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary; Entry - Collectivism
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Collectivism
Accessed on March 31, 2008
Here is another, perhaps more complete, definition:
Collectivism holds that the individual is not an end to himself,
but is only a tool to serve the ends of the group.
What is the key principle underlying collectivism?
The theory of collectivism (in all its variants) holds that man is not an end to himself, but is only a tool to serve the ends of others. Collectivism, unlike individualism, holds the group as the primary, and the standard of moral value. Whether that group is a dictator’s gang, the nation, society, the race, (the) god(s), the majority, the community, the tribe, etc., is irrelevant — the point is that man in principle is a sacrificial victim, whose only value is his ability to sacrifice his happiness for the will of the “group”.What is the opposite of collectivism?
The opposite of collectivism is individualism. Individualism declares that each and every man, may live his own life for his own happiness, as an end to himself. Politically, the result of such as principle is capitalism: a social system where the individual does not live by permission of others, but by inalienable right.- Capitalism.org FAQs

Now that you know what Communism, oops, I mean collectivism is, you will know what to look for as you read the interview linked below that Barack Obama gave just 10 years ago…
Here are just two of the more audacious quotes from the interview;
[One Quick Aside; As I was reading this before posting this note to all of your I thought to myself, "Wow, the title of Obama's book was really like a freudian slip wasn't it. Obama and his closest supporters actually had the "Audacity to Hope", that people wouldn't realize the true content of his character in a National Campaign. The Democrats really messed this one up allowing him to get this far - unless this is what they all believe! I guess we shouldn't be surprised really... A quote of Maya Angelou's came to my attention in the last few days, she said (paraphrased) Believe somebody when they show you who they are... the FIRST time.]
Anyone familiar with Star Trek will identify the first quote of Obama’s as sounding eerily familiar to the Borg! Automatons without thoughts of their own, with no desire, but that of the collective. Does Barack imagine himself some come-to-life version of the Borg Queen?

Obama on Individualism, vs. Collective thought, action and deed…
In America,” Obama says, “we have this strong bias toward individual action. You know, we idolize the John Wayne hero who comes in to correct things with both guns blazing. But individual actions, individual dreams, are not sufficient. We must unite in collective action, build collective institutions and organizations.”
- Barack Obama,
Interview with the Chicago Reader, 1995
Obama on the Million Man March, which he attended:
Historically, African-Americans have turned inward and towards black nationalism whenever they have a sense, as we do now, that the mainstream has rebuffed us, and that white Americans couldn’t care less about the profound problems African-Americans are facing”- Barack Obama,
Interview with the Chicago Reader, 1995

OH, WAIT!!! I almost forgot! What about Hillary, you say?
In case you think I’m just slammin’ on Obama, please consider the following - Hillary is no different than Barack. She just has a different name for describing the good Democrats that she has met along the campaign trail. She describes them as good “Communitarians“. [Communitarianism is basically the same as collectivism, denial of all forms of self, in the pursuit of the benefit of the whole, with no thought to the goodness of invidualism. In other words, denying our God-given freedom of thought even for the good of the majority. - Michelle]
“I was shocked when I learned Iowa and Mississippi have never elected a woman governor, senator or member of Congress,” Clinton told the paper. “There has got to be something at work here. How can Iowa be ranked with Mississippi? That’s not the quality. That’s not the communitarianism, that’s not the openness I see in Iowa.”
- Hillary Clinton, stated to the Des Moines Register,
October 2007, while campaigning in Iowa during the Primaries
Now, you may say Communitarianism is the opposite of libertarianism, and you may be right, but it is also the enemy ideologically to the United States as a Freedom Loving Constitutional Republic! We were not set up as a Socialist/Communist government. Which is the TRUE agenda of both Collectivism, and Communitarianism. And those who say, either ignorantly, or dishonestly that it’s not would end up paving the way for those who recognize it as such, and destroy our country along the way.
Conservatism, Individualism, Capitalism, and it’s friends in philosophical ideology are what’s best about the United States and what has made this country the most free in the world. We cannot let Collectivists, Communitarians, Socialists, and Communists oppress us like they have millions of other poor unfortunate souls across the world (See Soviet Stalin, Mao Tse Tung, Fidel Castro, etc…) and are doing to this day (see China, Chavez/Venezuela, Kim Jong Il/North Korea).
Thanks to “Nice Deb“, who brings news of the interview linked below to the blogosphere, and to “Jet Jaguar” over on FreeRepublic.com who notified me of the posting of publication of this expose at Ace of Spades.

In America,” Obama says, “we have this strong bias toward individual action. You know, we idolize the John Wayne hero who comes in to correct things with both guns blazing. But individual actions, individual dreams, are not sufficient. We must unite in collective action, build collective institutions and organizations.”
